Empathy Reality is referred to as ER. ER is a key component to Immersive Education and using VR in business. It will be ER that makes the VR market grow faster, and increase acceptance in everything we do.
With ER and Immersive Education, we can teach other people what it is like to be someone else. As an example, if you are a manufacturer making products for older adults that live in an assistive living facility, then you need ER to understand what your customers need. The days of designing products that don’t meet the special needs of an aging population will be eliminated with ER. Using ER and Immersive Education as a tool to teach, we will be able to design better products for persons with special needs which will increase revenue for many businesses.
For businesses that sell on-line like Amazon, ER will allow you to offer your customers the closest experience of test driving a product without leaving your home or office. The ER front end menu will provide accessibility options allowing sounds to have caption for the hearing impaired, and audio description for the visually impaired. I imagine someday, ER will be an option for Prime members that will demand a closer look and feel to what they purchase on-line thus increasing revenue for Amazon.
With ER, you can learn to have patience and be empathetic which allows you to understand what another person is experiencing from within the other person’s frame of reference, i.e., the capacity to place oneself in another’s shoes. While ER will allow us to create new products and allow us to become smarter and better shoppers before we buy, a new business will emerge allowing us to purchase ER from someone else and experience what they are doing. Imagine if you could use ER and sit in Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s car as you drive around a NASCAR track. You could have the experience of your life! What if ER would have been available for Peyton Manning’s last football game so everyone could have experienced Peyton’s last game in their own living room.
With ER, Facebook will be able to offer a new form of communication allowing users to experience each other’s environment, or create a virtual environment that becomes the space for a family reunion or another event.
With ER, travel agents will be able to allow potential customers to experience a destination before they buy it.
With ER, rehabilitation will have a new tool which can help speed up recovery.
The potential for ER is Big League, and we are truly only limited by our imagination or sense of purpose.
The question everybody is asking is how much revenue will ER generate as the VR market grows to satisfy the demands of consumers?
- One mathematical formula could be 75 million NASCAR fans times $1.00.
- Another mathematical formula is 54 million Amazon Prime customer’s times $1.00.
- Or perhaps one billion Facebook user’s times $1.00.
To answer the question… ER is what Amazon, NASCAR and Facebook have in common.
